Job Description
This position provides administrative, secretarial and fiscal support to faculty and staff within the department. Duties may include managing departmental files; responding to requests and greeting visitors and students either by phone, in person or email; supervising student workers and coordinating their hours; coordinating purchases; keeping faculty informed of policy and/or procedure changes; monitoring budgets and preparing budget reports; and preparing and reviewing travel requests.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and equipment. Experience providing administrative or programmatic support in a professional setting. Working knowledge with various computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based programs. Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education.
