Job Description

The Administrative Assistant for COMPASS serves as the first point of contact and manages receptionist duties for all callers, visitors, and students. The Administrative Assistant will schedule student visits with staff using Outlook, and/or other scheduling software. Assist the Student Success Advocates (SSA) in preparing reports, agendas, minutes, and presentations. Maintain the office supply inventory. Assist SSA and students in submitting emergency funds request. Responsibility for creating and maintaining the accuracy of the website, social media, and all marketing materials.

Required Qualifications

•Experience providing administrative support in a professional office setting.
•Demonstrated experience working independently with frequent interruptions.
•Experience prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines with frequent interruptions while maintaining the ability to be organized.
•Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
•Ability to treat all people equitably with a sensitivity to and awareness of cultural differences.
•Proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
•Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
•Experience handling sensitive/ confidential information.
•Proven computer skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Previous work experience in higher education.
•Working knowledge of Radford University and/or Commonwealth of Virginia policies and procedures.
•Experience using website editing tools, Canva, and social media platforms.

Employment Conditions: This is a grant-funded position.
Employment beyond the established end date is contingent on the need for services, the availability of funding, and satisfactory performance
