Job Description
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the intercollegiate athletics academic support programs to includes training, and supervision of the study center and personnel; coordinating the registration process for student-athletes; maintaining relationships with university academic departments; monitoring student-athlete academic progress; and completing institutional, conference and NCAA forms and related paperwork. Coordinates student-athlete outreach, career, and service programs.
Required Qualifications
An advanced degree or training, education and experience that equates to an advanced degree is required. Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to relate well with diverse students, faculty and staff. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently without direct supervision. Experience in tutoring or developmental education with knowledge of different learning styles for at-risk student-athletes. Experience working with academic support programs at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with student athletes in higher education. Knowledge of NCAA rules relating to academic and eligibility standards preferred with knowledge of and experience using the LSDBI system for NCAA initial eligibility desired. Prior experience supervising the SAAC organization is a plus.
