Job Description
The Office Manager provides administrative, fiscal, and programmatic support for the Department of Student Recreation and Wellness. This position is responsible for oversight and management of departmental budgets and processes, including travel, purchases, charge card transactions, transfers, reports, and deposits. This position reports to the Director of Student Recreation and Wellness and provides primary administrative support to the director.
Required Qualifications
• Experience providing administrative support in an office environment.
• Proven ability to take initiative, work independently and as part of a team
• Proven ability to work with a diverse population
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook (email and calendar) applications.
• Demonstrated high-quality customer service and aptitude to support a fast-paced, high-energy environment with multiple demands and frequent interruptions.
• Demonstrated experience with purchasing and budget management.
• Must possess strong time management, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a higher education
• Experience with database systems (such as Banner) and electronic purchasing systems (such as eVA).
• Demonstrated experience coordinating events and special projects while meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated fiscal experience including processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, monitoring budgets, tracking projects, and preparing financial reports.
